As most of you are aware, we can be pretty slow at times - our latest four episode delay is a great example of this. And as most of you are also aware, there are faster, less reliable translations out there.
Five weeks ago, KenXyro (Pafu), the primary "speedsubber" for Dragon Ball Super, stepped down and allowed "Batman" to take his place. Who *is* the "Batman"? A mysterious new entity dedicated fighting mistranslations in the name of accuracy? Or perhaps Ken himself clad in cape and cowl? Today we reveal his true identity:
Well, more accurately, Batman is our timer and translator.
To keep this brief: A little over a month ago, we came to an agreement with KenXyro. Each week, we would do an early release of our initial translation (pre-TLC/QC) under the pseudonym "Batman", and he would stop. This way, "the speedsubs" and "the best subs" would be fairly consistent, and mistranslations would be minimised.
Since this early release of ours would be pre-TLC/QC (and thus subject to mistakes), we decided to do it anonymously under "Batman", rather than labelling it plainly as a DragonTeam v0. This backfired when people started assuming Batman was KenXyro in disguise, or under a new team. Since that isn't exactly fair to our translator Lord_Starfish, we decided to come clean today.
In summary: From now on, you can view our early translations under "Batman". As an early release, these are subject to changes and corrections that will come in a future "DragonTeam" release. As is the nature with "speedsubs", Batman releases may have occasional typos, grammatical errors--and yes--even mistranslations.

While this won't prevent other groups from popping up, we hope you'll all find this arrangement to be an acceptable compromise.
